About Suran Mohan | MySkillMart.com Founder

Hi, I’m Suran Mohan — welcome to MySkillMart.

I started this site for one simple reason: most personal finance advice available to Indian salaried employees is either too generic, too Western, or written by people who’ve never actually filled out a salary slip, planned an EPF withdrawal, or budgeted around a government pay scale.

I have. By profession, I work in a finance-adjacent Assistant Executive role at a government corporation in Odisha, where I deal with real financial processes, procurement, and documentation every working day. Outside of work, I write — I’m the author of several Kindle books and blogs on personal finance and simple living, and I invest and trade in the markets myself. I’m also a husband, a father, and a son, which means every rupee I write about here is filtered through the same questions any Indian household asks: Will this actually help my family? Is this practical, or just theory?

Why MySkillMart exists

MySkillMart.com is built around one idea: financial freedom for the Indian salaried employee doesn’t start with a stock tip — it starts with understanding your own salary slip, building an emergency fund, and making steady, boring, correct decisions month after month. That’s the “First Salary to Financial Freedom” philosophy behind everything published here.

You won’t find get-rich-quick promises on this site. You’ll find:

A note on trust

MySkillMart.com covers topics that affect your money and financial well-being, so I hold myself to a simple standard: I only publish what I would tell a friend or family member asking me the same question. Where a topic needs professional advice specific to your situation — tax filing, legal contracts, investment decisions — I say so clearly and point you toward a qualified professional.

Let’s connect

If you have a question, a topic you want covered, or feedback on anything published here, I’d genuinely like to hear from it. [Contact link / social links / newsletter signup]
